Actor Spotlight: David Schwingle

What Character are you Playing?

Ludie Watts

How is the character different or similar to you?

Most adults understand the quiet desperation that can afflict a home; Ludie is particularly desperate because he's been sick for over two years and has lost all of his savings. Most of us can identify with someone who doesn't want to revisit a painful past.

What are some of your favorite parts of working on this production?

Love the cast and crew! Marvelous. The physicality of a cramped apartment was fun to play.

Why should people come to see the show?

Everyone should see Mrs. Corretta Grass play her final role at BJU!

What is your favorite line from the play?

"I know. You've told me a hundred times. What can I do about it Jesse Mae?"

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?

Many have remarked on the play's pace. Perhaps our audience, so unused to seeing live theatre, is simply witnessing this live art form again for the first time.
